lesson 12: Choose two news web sites (example: Fox news and MSNBC). Select the same report/event/story from each. Tell the title of the article, who wrote it, when did it occur, where did it occur, list all the names in the article, what was it about, why is it important and what did you learn from the article. Then compare the substance of each article side by side. What conclusions do you draw from the reporting bias if any?
Lesson 13: Analyze a news paper article on a subject of political controversy. Tell the title of the article, who wrote it, when did it occur, where did it occur, list all the names in the article, what it was about, why is it important and what you learned from the article. Then, draw the first mental image that comes to you mind about the subject of the article. Next, research the subject and print an image about the subject. Place all of the aforementioned on a poster. Use lots of color. Finally place a survey on or near the poster so that others can express their opinions on the subject.
lesson 14: What conclusions does the survey provide to you on your selected topic in lesson 13?
Lesson 15: Create a bar chart from the data collected in the survey in lesson 13. Analyze and display the results on a poster.
